Abbreviations

The radio transmission free entry window will automatically convert any typed text to uppercase.  It makes no difference whether input is typed in capitals or lower case.  The system also automatically understands abbreviations that the user may type. It will automatically expand some abbreviations and contract some full text to optimise the readability of the typed text.

For example the line:

20 THIS IS R2 FIRE MISSION BTY OVER

could be specified by typing any of the following (or many more configurations):

20 ti R2 fm bty over

20 ti R2 FM Battery over

20 this is R2 FIRE MISSION BATTERY OVER
