Training configurations

VBS3Strike is designed to support a variety of training applications and can be run in several configurations. To facilitate this, every license of VBS3Strike can be run in two modes.  Stand-Alon and VBS3 Trainee are these two modes.

  1. Stand-Alone mode: Allows a single license of VBS3 to create and carry out VBS3Strike Missions. This allows individual training without the requirement for instructor intervention.
  2. VBS3 Trainee:  VBS3 Trainee joins the VBS3 mission of the VBS3Strike host machine. The trainee can view the  active POD view of any aerial asset that is being controlled by the Instructor, by clicking on the mouse scroll.
  3. Pilot mode: Pilot needs to be joined to Instructor’s VBS3 scenario and also be connected to Instructor through VBS3Strike to run the Pilot mode. The Pilot can get the Aircraft control of any Aerial asset while the Instructor is on mission and the Pilot can Set New Targets while in Aircraft control and fire after instructor has “cleared hot” the mission. Pilot can access the instructor’s active POD view by using scroll options in VBS3.
  4. Instructor mode: The Instructor can connect pilot through VBS3Strike and let him get the aircraft control of any aerial asset. Instructor mode has all the Standalone mode features inbuilt. The connection between Instructor & Pilot through VBS3Strike should be done before the connection created through VBS3.

Note:
In order to run VBS3Strike in Pilot or Instructor mode, multiple instances of VBS3Strike must be used (with at least one running in Pilot mode and one running in Instructor mode). This will require more than one license of VBS3Strike.
