Connecting to VBS3Strike
I cannot get VBS3Strike to launch
- Ensure that you have Java installed on your machine (JRE 1.6 or later is
required). A version of java is provided with the VBS3Strike
installation.
- Ensure you have installed VBS3Strike
- If nothing happens when you run VBS3Strike, ensure that your system is
configured to run JAR files with the -jar flag. See http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/deployment/jar/run.html
I get an error dialog telling me that VBS3Strike is already running when I
start
- VBS3Strike will check that there is not another version of VBS3Strike
running which is using the same ports that it requires for operation. If
there is another version running, it will display an error message and will
not start a second version on the same computer. Close the first version
down.
- Use windows task manager to close all java processes and then run
VBS3Strike again.
VBS3Strike will not connect to VBS3
- VBS3Strike will only connect to VBS3 when you reach the mission briefing
screen of a scenario. This will occur after you have hit the
Connect button in the network lobby of VBS3.
- Check the VBS3FiresIPAddress.dat and VBS3StrikeIPAddress.dat files in
the root directory of your VBS3 installation. Ensure that the contents of
these files define an IP address of the machine that is running VBS3Strike.
If that file is not present, then ensure you are running VBS3Strike on the
same machine as VBS3 is running on.
- Ensure that no firewall is preventing socket communications between VBS3
and VBS3Strike.
I get a disconnection message
- VBS3Strike will display a disconnection message whenever it loses a
connection to VBS3. This could be because:
- VBS3 has closed down.
- A timeout has occurred due to VBS3 excessive processing. If this
occurs repeatedly, please contact the VBS3 support department.
"SEVERE : Cannot load map UTM origin coordinate. Aborting
initialization.".
- When a new instance of VBS3Strike application is run with VBS3 and then
a VBS3Strike scenario has begun. Then if the timers are not running in the
'Simulation Status' window, please access the VBS3Strike log file through
'Help' -->'View Log'. If you notice the above entry in the VBS3Strike log
file then this is because the player's unit location is invalid ( getOrigin
returns [-1,-1,-1,"N"] ).
Why does projected path is generated over the target when using CBU-CEM Bombs?
CBU-CEM is a Bomb type weapon which uses free falling behavior. Therefore for such weapons release points will be generated very closer to the target. The other thing is air platforms turn away from the target just after weapon release because its speed. Therefor they may fly some distance towards the target even after weapon release.
Sometimes Platforms go around the release point to attack on High Terrains?
