To Indirect Fire


VBS2Combined Arms will generate a response from enemy to react to indirect fire.  This will consist of the immediate action as the round detonates and then the subsequent action. The immediate action will be for all dismounted units to go to ground immediately, and for all armoured vehicles to turn in immediately.

The subsequent action will be for all units to move to closest cover, and for vehicles to either:

    • Disperse and find local cover
    • Speed away from the point of detonation

. The choice of enemy response to explosive rounds that can be set by the AI Unit Response tab:

  • Ignore: Units will not react.
  • Hold Position: Units which are just outside the blast radius go to the prone immediately and continue to hold their position.

  • Disperse and find cover: Units go to the prone immediately and then move to the nearest cover.

  • Move outside engagement area : Units flee away from the Explosion.

  • Duration:This specifies the duration a unit/vehicle will behave according to the settings given above. If no other explosion or illumination occurs in the vicinity during the specified duration, units will resume their normal behaviour.
