Saved data locations
VBS2Combined Arms will create a subdirectory name VBS2Combined Arms in the user Documents directory. For most users this will be:
C:\Users\[User Name]\Documents\VBS2\VBS2Combined Arms
VBS2Combined Arms will create the following files inside that directory:
File Name | Description |
firesSettings.dat |
Records the default station name for VBS2Combined Arms and any other default data relating to this VBS2Combined Arms station. |
fireOptions.dat |
Records information such as Immediate suppression settings and doctrinal selection. |
firesApplicationPosition.cfg |
Records the position and state of the main GUI frame for VBS2Combined Arms from the last simulation run. This allows the application to always load with the same size and location as it was used on the last run. |
windowPositions.cfg |
Records the default positions, sizes and status for all VBS2Combined Arms windows. This will determine how VBS2Combined Arms appears when it is started. |
log.txt |
Records the log of the last run of VBS2Combined Arms |
log.txt.cfg syserrlog.txt |
Used by VBS2Combined Arms to prevent concurrent modification of the log file by multiple threads. |
Additionally, VBS2Combined Arms will create a subdirectory inside this VBS2Combined Arms directory with a name that corresponds to each of the station names that have been used for VBS2Combined Arms. Inside each of these directories is the following file:
File Name | Description |
windowsLayout.dat |
Records the positions, sizes and status for all VBS2Combined Arms windows as saved by this user. |
If VBS2Combined Arms is run with a station name that matches one of these directory names, then the windowsLayout.dat file here is used in place of the default window positions. In this way, you can have multiple station names which correspond to multiple starting window layouts.
