Locstat

An observer using a call-for-fire procedure will, at times, want to transmit their location to the fire assets which are supporting them. Locstat can also be used to add a virtual location to an observer. The observer will physically be in a certain location but virtually in another grid position. To do this they can use the Locstat window which can be accessed from the main menu under Transmit -> Send Locstat.

Using this window, simply select the callsign of the fire asset to be communicated with, (observer’s own callsign is displayed automatically), and then enter the eight-figure grid reference which can be obtained from the VBS2 GPS or map. Finally, click ‘Transmit’ to send the Locstat.
