Fire Support Coordination Center
The NATO doctrine support in VBS2Combined Arms supports the Fire Support Coordination Centre (FSCC). This provides a consolidated user interface.
Fire Mission-> Fire Support Coordination
Center.
The FSCC function is not supported for Commonwealth doctrine missions.
Using this interface the instructor can manually authorise guns to fire as well as allocating missions to individual assets.
From the main menu system: Options->Preferences ->Other->Automated FSCC is selected by default, this enables VBS2Combined Arms to automatically fire each mission it receives. If this option is NOT checked, then the user can select which mission to fire and when by using the interface located at the main menu system: Fire Mission->Fire Support Coordination System.
With this user interface panel, all pending Fire Mission requests are display in the top left table. Available Fire Assets are displayed on the top right. The user can select a pending mission and an available fire asset and click “Allocate Mission”. The mission will be listed under “Unauthorised Fire Missions”. In the far right column, once the user selects “Is Authorised” the mission is processed and fired.
A second method, a user selects a mission from “Pending Request” and an asset from “Available Fire Assets”. The user clicks “Authorise Fire” and then clicks “Allocate Mission”. The mission will be processed and fired by VBS2Combined Arms.
